Charlton Farms
Our Farm
Est. 1998
Jeromy and Arden Charlton started operating as Charlton Farms in 1998, later incorporating in 2015. We purchased our current farm in 2006. Herefords have been in our families for generations now. We were both raised with hereford cattle and as members of the Canadian Junior Hereford Association. We decided that life on a farm, caring for animals and experiencing the rewards that come with hard work, were the things we wanted our kids to experience as well. As our farm has evolved to focus primarily on the grain land, our love of the hereford breed has kept us involved in the hereford industry. As our kids grow, they take more interest and responsibility in the cattle herd. Matthew, Jade, and Andrew enjoy showing at various events and also take part in 4-H and the CJHA. They are very involved in the day to day management of the cattle. Matthew has taken over the majority of the decision making as well as the day to day operations of the cattle herd. We keep a small herd of approximately 50 females and focus on traits such as fertility, performance, soundness and calving ease. The cattle industry and primarily the Hereford breed has many great people involved and we are extremely grateful to those that have mentored and supported our kids in this industry.
Our Mission
Local Family Farm
We search for a lot in our cattle such as soundness, longevity, udder quality, depth and power. We improve every year and this program is continuing to grow and will improve year by year. We work hard to improve and update to new genetics year by year.
